Beyond The Glass Room: The many lives of the Villa Tugendhat (debate)
The Villa Tugendhat designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1928 - 1930 is one of the finest examples of modernism in Europe, a UNESCO Heritage Site and the inspiration for the Man Booker Prize-nominated novel The Glass Room by Simon Mawer. This talk and debate celebrates the life of the Villa and, with the architects, historians and curators who took part in the recently completed restoration, explores the process behind bringing this icon back to life.
