Be part of Kateřina Šedá's 24 hour performance at Southbank Centre's Wide Open School!

This summer, for one month only, Hayward Gallery is transformed into Wide Open School, with classes by over 80 international artists.

It is not an art school, however. Instead, it is a wide-ranging forum where artists lead and facilitate workshops, collaborative projects, collective discussions, lectures and performances about any and all subjects in which they are passionately interested.

Czech artist Kateřina Šedá is giving a marathon 24-hour performance lecture over the last two days of the school, from 10am on 10 July to 10am on 11 July. We are looking for volunteers, fluent in Czech and English, to translate her lecture. Volunteers will be part of the performance and provide casual Czech-to-English translation of the artist's speech for the audience.

If you are good at public speaking, have experience of or an interest in visual arts and would like to take part in this exciting opportunity, complete and return the registration form at southbankcentre.co.uk/jobs. We will ask you to attend a brief induction for the project at 5.30pm on Friday 6 July. All volunteers will also be invited to come along to our evening event at Wide Open School that day – 'The Truth Against the World', a lecture-performance by Welsh artist Bedwyr Williams.

Deadline for applications: Wednesday 4 July

Wide Open School is part of Southbank Centre's Festival of the World with MasterCard.
